A Book for Royalty

lloyds of London
Celebrating 350 years

The Brief

Her Majesty the Queen was visiting Lloyd’s of London as part of the celebrations around 350 years of association. The Chairman, with very little notice, wanted to give Her Majesty a book which commemorated these three and a half centuries of connexion.

The Challenge

There were just ten days in which to devise, plan, research, write, design, proof, print, bind and deliver three copies of a book. Not just any book, but one that had to be good enough to be an appropriate gift from the Chairman of one of the oldest and most respected institutions in the City of London to the Head of State of the United Kingdom, not to mention a number of other countries around the world.

Project Outline

The book was in our Large format and comprised 72 pages printed in colour. Fully bound in cloth and foil blocked on face and spine. After the first run, we scaled the book down and reprinted in the Classic size as a gift for Council members.
